How To Tell A Difference Between Male And Female Kittens00:00

I have now in my care 9 baby kittens together with their rescued mothers. Each of the mommies were rescued while they were very pregnant so they both gave birth here.
I was asked what are the genders of the kittens so i thought that we can check the together and this way I can teach you how to tell a difference between male and female at baby kittens.

So let’s check one of the kittens. The first opening just under the tail is the anus. Below the anus is the genital opening which is round in males and vertical slit in females. In kittens that have the same age, the distance between the anus and the genital opening is greater in the male than the female. So as you can see this kitten’s genital opening is round so he is definitely a male.

Let’s take another one. At this one the genital opening is clearly vertical slit and comparing with the other kitten the distance between the anus and the genital opening is smaller. So we have a female. Let’s check the other kittens. We have 3 more who are the same age with these first two. I will let you guess!

Ok, so here we have 3 makes and 2 females. With this other mother cat we have 4 kittens who are younger than the first 5. They are only 2 weeks old. So I will let you guess for them also.
